Cookie policy
The short version
- This website has no advertising pixels and no cross-site trackers.
- It uses one optional service: Cloudflare Web Analytics, which counts visits.
- In Europe, analytics stay off until you accept. Everywhere else, analytics are on and you can turn them off.
- If your browser sends Global Privacy Control, analytics stay off until you turn them on.
Cloudflare Web Analytics
Cloudflare Web Analytics tells us how many people visit each page. For each page view it sends Cloudflare the page address, the site that sent you, your browser and device type, your country, and how fast the page loaded. Cloudflare says the service does not use cookies, local storage, or fingerprinting to track visitors. Cloudflare processes this data for us under its privacy policy. We do not sell it, share it for advertising, or use it to identify you.
The script loads from static.cloudflareinsights.com and reports to cloudflareinsights.com. Our page adds it only when the rules below allow it.
Where you visit from decides the default
When a page loads, it asks our server which rule applies. The server gets your country from Cloudflare, which works it out from your IP address. Our server uses the country only to pick the rule. It answers with the rule alone, and it does not store or log your country.
- Europe means the European Union, the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, Switzerland, their overseas territories, Jersey, Guernsey, the Isle of Man, Andorra, Monaco, San Marino, and Vatican City. Here analytics stay off until you choose Accept analytics. Reject, or closing the notice, keeps them off. We use the same rule if we cannot tell where you are, if the check fails, or if your browser blocks site storage.
- Everywhere else, analytics are on by default. Keep analytics on, or closing the notice, keeps that default while you visit from outside Europe. If you later visit from Europe, we ask you. Turn off analytics switches them off wherever you are. Before analytics start, the page checks that your browser can remember a choice to turn them off: it saves a test value named
formitor.storage-checkand deletes it straight away. If that fails, analytics stay off. - Global Privacy Control: if your browser sends this signal, analytics stay off until you turn them on, wherever you are. If you allowed analytics before your browser started sending the signal, we ask again.
If you turn analytics off after they started, the page reloads so they stop. You can change your choice at any time with Cookie settings at the bottom of every page.
Your saved choice
We save nothing about your choice before you make one. After you choose, or close the notice, we store a record named formitor.cookie-consent in your browser's local storage. It holds your choice, the services you allowed, whether your browser sent Global Privacy Control, the notice version, and when the choice was saved and when it expires.
A choice counts for 180 days. After that we ask again and delete the old record. The record stays on your device, is not sent to us, and is not used to identify you. It applies to this browser on formitor.com only. If your browser blocks site storage, a choice you make applies to the current page only.
Things that are always on
fmt_authcookie. When you sign in to the Formitor app, the app sets this cookie for formitor.com and its subdomains. Its value is only1. It tells this website to show your dashboard link instead of "Sign in". It holds no account data, lasts up to 30 days, and is removed when you sign out.formitor_beta_promptin local storage. If you close or answer the beta invite, we remember that, so the invite does not appear on every page.formitor.resume-after-choicein session storage. If you ask for the beta invite while the privacy notice is still open, and your answer reloads the page, this value opens the invite after the reload. It is written only after your choice, removed as soon as it is used, and gone when you close the tab.- Cloudflare security cookies. Cloudflare may set these to protect the site from abuse. The privacy notice does not control them. See Cloudflare's cookie information.
The application (app.formitor.com)
The Formitor dashboard uses functional cookies and similar storage strictly to keep you signed in and to remember session state. These are required for the product to work and are not used for advertising.
Fonts
This website serves its fonts (Inter, Space Grotesk and JetBrains Mono) from formitor.com itself. Pages make no requests to Google Fonts or any other font service, so loading a page does not send your IP address to a font provider.
Managing cookies
You can clear or block cookies and site storage in your browser settings at any time. Blocking the app's functional cookies will prevent sign-in from working. This website works fully without any cookies; if you block site storage, analytics stay off.
