Add a site to your dashboard

Updated June 10, 2026 · also available in the in-app Help center

Once the plugin is installed and activated, connect the site here.

Steps

  1. Click + Add site in the header.
  2. Enter a Site name (anything you like) and the Site URL.
  3. From Tools → Formitor in WordPress, copy the Site key (it starts with site_) and the Secret, and paste them in.
  4. (Optional) Add a client address under CC the client on tests. Note this inbox receives a copy of every test email, which can be many per day. Leave it blank unless the client asks.
  5. Click Verify & add: Formitor checks the connection before saving.

If verification fails, double-check the URL, key and secret, and that the plugin is active.

Connecting with a pairing code

If you have connected an AI assistant to Formitor, it can add sites for you without ever handling the site's secret.

The assistant asks Formitor for a pairing code. In WordPress, go to Tools → Formitor, find Connect this site, enter the code and save. The plugin sends its own credentials straight to Formitor.

A few things worth knowing:

  • Codes last fifteen minutes and work once.
  • A code decides which account the site joins. It cannot add a site on its own: Formitor still calls the site back and checks the signature before anything is saved.
  • Pairing adds new sites only. To move an existing site to a new address, use Change site address instead.
  • The assistant needs the Let this agent add new sites permission on its token. See Connect an AI assistant.

Moving a site to a new address

If a site changes domain, do not delete and re-add it, because that throws away its history. Use Change site address on the site itself. Forms, history and uptime monitors move with it. You will need the site's secret, which is how the new address proves it is the same site.
