Formitor can be connected to an AI assistant, so you can ask questions like "is anything broken right now?" in plain language instead of opening the dashboard.
Create a token
- Open AI access from the header.
- Give the token a label so you can tell your tokens apart later.
- Decide whether this assistant may add sites. See What a token can do below.
- Click Generate token and copy it. It is shown once and cannot be retrieved later.
- The screen also shows the endpoint and a ready made command for adding Formitor to Claude Code.
Every token is tied to your account and can only ever see your own sites.
What a token can do
A new token can read your account and run a check on demand. Reading covers your sites, their current status, the recent check results and your alert feed.
Adding sites is separate and off unless you turn it on. Tick Let this agent add new sites when you create the token. An assistant with that permission gets a pairing code rather than your site credentials, so it never sees a site's secret. See Add a site to your dashboard.
Running a check is real. It submits an actual test lead through the form and sends an actual email, and it counts against the same daily limit as the button in the dashboard.
Revoking a token
Open AI access and click Revoke next to the token. Revoking takes effect immediately. If a token has ever been pasted somewhere you do not control, revoke it and generate a new one: there is no way to tell whether a copied token has been used by someone else.
Good practice
- One token per assistant, labelled, so revoking one does not disturb the others.
- Leave the add sites permission off unless you actually want an assistant onboarding sites.
- Treat the token like a password. Anyone holding it can read your account.
