In-app notifications (the bell)

Updated June 16, 2026 · also available in the in-app Help center

The bell in the top bar is your in-app notification center. It collects the same alerts Formitor already sends you, so important events are visible the moment you open the dashboard.

What triggers a notification

You get a notification whenever something changes state — for example:

  • A form starts failing to deliver, or recovers
  • A site goes down, or comes back up
  • An SSL certificate is approaching expiry
  • A deliverability problem (SPF/DKIM/DMARC) or a notification address that can't receive mail
  • A lead-volume anomaly (real leads dried up)
  • A checkout (WooCommerce / SureCart) stops working

Each notification is tagged with the site (and form, when relevant) it's about, and color-coded by severity (info / warning / critical).

Reading and clearing them

  • A red count on the bell shows how many are unread.
  • Click a notification to mark it read (and follow its link, if any).
  • Mark all read clears the count.
  • The dismisses a notification — this removes it permanently.

Does this replace email / Slack?

No. In-app notifications arrive alongside your existing channels (email, Slack, Discord, Teams, SMS, webhooks). Configure those under Notifications.
