You can pause Formitor's synthetic checks while a site or form is being worked on, so maintenance doesn't trigger false "form broken" or delivery-failure alerts. On the main dashboard, each site card has a Pause/Resume button (⏸). Pausing stops all test submissions and alerts for that site until you resume. While paused, the card shows a "Paused" badge and is dimmed so it doesn't read as healthy. (Admins can also pause at the whole-system, per-client, per-site, or per-form level from the admin Monitoring tab.) Pausing a site or form also covers the daily inbox placement test, so a paused form receives no test submissions of any kind.
When Formitor pauses a site for you
Formitor can also pause a site on its own. Before it submits to every form on a site, it checks one form and confirms the test notification reached only Formitor. If it cannot confirm that, or a test mail reached a real inbox, it pauses the whole site so nothing else is submitted.
When that happens you get a critical notification in the bell, "Checks paused on (site)", with the reason. Formitor support is paged at the same time and owns the fix. You do not need to resume the site yourself. Once a fix is in place and the check passes, the site resumes on its own and you get "Checks resumed on (site)".
The site card shows the "Paused" badge while this is in effect. If you resume the site by hand, Formitor runs the same one-form check before it touches the rest.
Formitor keeps a record of who paused each site. A site you paused yourself is never handled as a Formitor pause: support does not triage it, and Formitor never resumes it on its own. That holds even if Formitor runs a check on it in the meantime. Only sites Formitor paused after its own check are resumed automatically.
