Connected sites keep the Formitor plugin current on their own: WordPress checks our update feed and installs new versions automatically. When a site stops doing that, something on the site (usually a firewall, a security plugin, or disabled auto updates) is getting in the way, and the plugin slowly falls behind.
We email the account owner when that happens:
- a site is one version behind for five days or more, or
- a site is two or more versions behind for three days or more.
You get one email per release, not a reminder stream.
What to do
- Log in to the site's WordPress admin and open Plugins.
- Find Formitor Spoke and click Check for updates in its row.
- Click Update now. The update takes under a minute and monitoring keeps running throughout.
If the site keeps falling behind after manual updates, a firewall is probably blocking the update check. See the firewall guides in this knowledge base for how to allow our addresses.
Security releases
When a release fixes a security issue, we do not wait out the periods above: owners of sites still on an older version are emailed as soon as the release is flagged. Those emails say clearly that the update is security related. Please install those updates right away.
