Incidents, escalation & maintenance

Updated July 20, 2026 · also available in the in-app Help center

When a monitor goes down, Formitor opens an incident and alerts your channels.

Incidents

Open a monitor to see its incidents. Each shows a timeline (opened, escalated, acknowledged, notes, recovered). Acknowledge stops further escalation; Resolve closes it; add notes for your team. Incidents also resolve automatically when the monitor recovers.

Escalation policies

In a monitor's edit dialog, add ordered escalation steps: after N minutes unacknowledged, also notify these channels. Channels are your existing alert destinations (Slack/Teams/SMS/webhooks). No steps = a single alert on the down/up flip.

Maintenance windows

Schedule planned maintenance (per monitor, per site, or account-wide) as a one-off datetime range or a recurring weekly window. During a window, probes still run but do not alert or count against your uptime %.

Degraded state

Set Degraded above (ms) on a monitor: while it is up but slower than that threshold it shows an amber Degraded state and an in-app notice, without paging.
