Website uptime & SSL monitoring

Updated June 11, 2026 · also available in the in-app Help center

Formitor checks that each of your sites is reachable about every 10 minutes — separate from your form checks.

What counts as "down"

  • The site doesn't respond, times out, or returns a server error (5xx).
  • The page loads but is broken — a blank/white screen, a WordPress "critical error", or a "briefly unavailable for scheduled maintenance" page. A 200 OK that's actually broken still counts as down.

Fast, but no false alarms When a check fails, Formitor re-checks about 30 seconds later and only marks the site down if it fails again — so a momentary blip won't alert you. A real outage is confirmed in about a minute, and once a site is down Formitor polls it more often so recovery is detected quickly too.

SSL certificate expiry Formitor reads each site's SSL certificate daily and warns you as it nears expiry (30, 14, 7 and 1 day before), and immediately if a certificate is already invalid or expired — before visitors ever see a security warning.

Where you see it Site uptime and SSL status appear in your dashboard for each site, and on the read-only status pages you share with clients. Downtime and SSL warnings are also delivered through your alert channels (email, Slack, webhook, SMS).
